No matter if you choose to mix this protein powder with water or milk, the by product of the mix turns out without any clumps every single time. This was the very first time I ever witnessed this event. A clump-less protein shake! For a real protein drinker like me, as I drink between three and four shakes per day, it’s incredibly important that a protein powder possess this quality, and many do not. (more…)

American Whey Protein: Mixability Heaven
Wednesday, December 23rd, 2009American Whey Protein: Makes Protein Shakes Actually Enjoyable
Tuesday, December 22nd, 2009Being a former employee of a nutritional products company, I’ve tried hundreds, maybe even thousands of nutritional products, many of those protein powders. Most of those protein powders I tried tasted like watery chalk, were overpriced or just didn’t perform for me. I can say that American Whey protein does not fall under and of these descriptors, in fact, just the opposite. (more…)
American Whey Protein: Bar None, My Favorite Protein
Monday, December 21st, 2009By far, American Whey protein is the best protein powder I’ve ever taken, and I’m not just blowing smoke here. I’ve had my fair share of protein powders and shakes over the course of my rather athletic life, and I can say, this protein is where it’s at as far as providing a good amount of protein per scoop, natural ingredients, mixability, and especially, drinkability. I can’t get over how easily this product mixes. (more…)
American Whey Protein: Wild Berry Blast is the Bomb
Sunday, December 20th, 2009I’ve tried a lot of protein powders, and I mean A LOT. I’ve been building muscle since I was probably 12 years old – and I’m no youngin’, if that tells you anything – and have taken protein supplements ever since. Taste has never been high on my list of priorities when it comes to protein shakes and drinks. (more…)
American Whey Protein: Overall, Excellent
Saturday, December 19th, 2009The first tub I bought of American Whey protein was the flavor Double Dutch Chocolate Supreme. (Sounds amazing, even for a protein powder, right?) Allow me to say… Do not let the appearance or packaging of this product fool you. It may look basic and plain, but what’s inside is far from it. The first thing I noticed after opening the tub, as I’ve opened quite a few tubs of protein in my life being the gym junkie that I am, is that there were hardly any clumps whatsoever. It actually stayed like this for as long as it stayed in my cupboard, too. (more…)
American Whey Protein: Great for Women Looking to Tone
Friday, December 18th, 2009Granted, I’m no body builder. In fact, I’m a woman in her twenties. My goal in purchasing my very first tub of protein powder was to gain a little muscle and help tone my body. The first tub I purchased was 3lb American Whey Protein in the chocolate flavor. This is also the very first protein powder I ever tried. I have to admit, the first thing I was worried about was taste. (more…)
American Whey Protein: Really Get Your Bang for the Buck
Thursday, December 17th, 2009Granted, I didn’t purchase my 10lb tub of American Whey Protein online and receive a special deal. I bought it in-store and paid full price, however, I still found that the $60 I spent was well worth it for the product I got. Making judgments on several different levels such as mixability and drinkability, this protein powder really has it all, or at least it does for me. I drink, usually, three shakes per day to get my required protein fill, so that means I’m drinking it quite often. (more…)
American Whey Protein: Can’t Go Wrong with the Ingredients
Wednesday, December 16th, 2009For a while, I was getting really tired of picking up protein powder jugs and checking the labels to see ingredients like fillers and extra fat, even sweeteners that made my pancreas want to roll up in a ball and shrivel away (high fructose corn syrup). However, that is until I turned around a can of American Whey Protein and was more than pleasantly surprised by what I read: 100 percent cold-filtered isolate, all natural flavors, NATURAL sweetener fructose, ion exchanged whey and a digestive enzyme blend containing bromelin, papain, protease and peptizyme. (more…)
American Whey Protein: Love the No Clumps When I Mix
Tuesday, December 15th, 2009One of the worst things about protein shakes, to me, is how most just do not mix with water or milk, whatever liquid you prefer to mix with. They almost always leave those floating chunks of nasty, powdery protein at the bottom or even worse, all throughout the drink. When one of those chunks gets stuck in your teeth or you accidentally chew on one, it basically makes drinking the shake a total drudgery, and that’s not where I want to be when I’m trying to get my extra protein in for the day, especially when I’m using it as a meal replacement. (more…)
American Whey Protein: Taste Test Passed with Flying Colors
Monday, December 14th, 2009I’ve tried my fair share of protein powders out there, and American Whey Protein is among the best as far as taste is concerned. I was actually referred by a friend to try the product, so I went out and bought a 10lb tub. I’m about to go out and buy my second, if that says anything. (more…)
