I recently finished my first tub of Elite 12 hr Protein from Dymatize and am pleasantly surprised by my results. I was a bit skeptical, as I have always used the same line of protein powders for the last five years, but never achieved great results. Ready to take myself to a new level and rip the lid off of my bodybuilding, I decided to go with the recommendation of a gym trainer friend and try Elite 12 hr. I am really glad I did, because I will be using Dymatize’s Elite 12 hr as my maintenance protein from here on out.
I found that Elite is a great source of protein anytime, whether you are wanting a morning protein drink, pre or post-workout protein, or even a before bedtime protein supplement. I used Elite 12 hr at all hours of the day and am happy with what it brought me. The muscle growth that I began to see what great! I even noticed a difference in the time it took my muscles to repair and recover. Before using Elite 12 hr, it took awhile for my muscles to recover, and most of the time I would wake up in a somewhat lethargic state. My muscles would cramp in the morning and I would usually spend the first 30 minutes after waking up on the floor stretching. Not anymore! Yes, I still stretch, but wake up refreshed, full of energy, and no more pain. This was a huge bonus for me!
Dymatize label reveals that Elite 12 hr is one of the most anabolic protein sources out there today. It also claims to be one of the most anti-catabolic. The supplement is chalked full of glutamine, branch chain amino acids, numerous fatty acids (the kind that are good for you), and zytrix. What is zytrix? That was my question. Zytrix is a super enzyme that helps increase your body’s absorption levels. It gives that something extra to your muscles and promotes constant growth and also recovery for hours upon hours. That sounded good to me! I had never seen another product out there that did what Elite 12hr did, and now my results speak for themselves.
I added one level scoop to about 10 ounces of water, but Elite 12 hr is also good mixed with milk or juice. The contents should then be shaken or blended for about 20 seconds and then drank immediately. I like to add a couple of ice cubes to the blender and make a thicker and creamier shake. Each serving (one level scoop) contains 129 calories, 2 grams of fat, 6 grams of carbohydrates, 2 grams of dietary fiber, 210 mg of potassium, and 21 grams of protein. To up my protein content during intense stretches of weightlifting, I used two scoops instead of one. This gave me 42 grams of protein in each shake but kept me well under 400 calories. There are zero grams of sugar in Elite 12 hr, and just 190 mg of sodium.
Also, with so many protein powders I have tried in the past, there were times when the bloating was unbearable. With Elite 12 hr, I can mix up a shake and sip it at my desk without having to unbutton my pants and feel like I need to spend two extra hours at the gym to rid the stomach pain. I thoroughly enjoy this protein supplement and will continue to use it.
